"First impressions amaze balls view, like it could have been a movie, rolling green pastures, friendly kangaroos, manicured lawns. The home was spacious, centrally located fireplace that warmed the whole house, plentiful firewood, well equipped kitchen, views from every window, except for the attic bedrooms, but the upstairs bathroom view more than makes up for that. "Our stay was 11/10. Best day on KI was when we stayed put at the house. Made pancakes, put on our gumboots and explored the property, watched the rain through huge windows, had a lavender bath, fed the friendly roos, read books and toasted marshmallows in front of the fire. “This place was awesome. The view is next level and the place is just incredibly peaceful. Loved walking around nearby and the proximity to the beach and town, and again, the view and the serenity it brings is excellent. We stayed as two families with kids from 6-11 and three adults. There was plenty of space to stack the kids away (the bunk bed room was a huge hit) and they all loved walking around the property looking g for wildlife. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and everything well labeled and easy to use. If anything, the pictures don’t do justice to how immense the view is.:

“Sue’s Grass Tree House in Middle River was perfection. Private, with incredible views inside and out. We were drawn outside and spent most of our time enjoying the beautifully kept lawn with the rolling hills and ocean as the backdrop. Inside the home we enjoyed the rustic charms along with the wood burning fireplace. We spent our days here, inside and out, in Awe. “Just the two of us on this trip. The house was welcoming and matched everything mentioned. But I don't think you ever get use to the view. From walking it the door, to relaxing in the lounge room it's just there. We wanted somewhere away from everyone else, and this place was perfect. The drive to the house from the ferry is easy, the driveway a little lumpy but part of the charm. KI is easy to get around however there a lot of dirt roads, but they are in good condition. The master bed was so comfortable and waking up to the sun coming in over ocean view, there is no better way to start your day. I would recommend this property to couples and families, plenty of space and so homey and relaxing. Close to Penneshaw for supplies. We did visit the Enchanted Fig Tree while we were on Ki, a little expensive but such a lovely way to enjoy some local food and wine, I wouldn't recommend doing it at night on the roads to get there.”

“Wow! Sue’s place on Kangaroo Island was an absolute paradise. The views to the hills and the ocean are just stunning. The sunsets and sunrises are like a dream. Every single day we saw kangaroos all over the hillsides and coming right up to the house. Seeing the kangaroos so close — including a mother and joey — was the highlight of the trip for our two young children. The wildlife on this island is truly amazing! We saw kangaroos, wallabies, eagles, an echidna, quokka and koalas. The wild koalas were just sleeping in the trees only minutes away on the side of the road. The house is wonderfully comfortable and has everything one could possibly need, including beach chairs, beach towels and a beach shade shelter. We saw so many pristine beaches that were never crowded. At times we were the only ones on the beach. It really is such a special place and an absolute natural paradise here. This has been one of our very favorite vacations. Thank you for the memories!”
